We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our Captain and all crew members for their outstanding efforts during the Search and Rescue operation conducted on 21/10/2016 until 25/10/2016 off of Libya during which hundreds of lives were saved. 1356 people in distress were rescued by M/T Okyroe and 758 of them were transferred safely to Italian authorities. We take this opportunity to thank our officers and crew for acting with top seamanship under very difficult circumstances for long hours until operation was complete. They have successfully fulfilled their primary obligation as seamen under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) and the International Conventions on Search and Rescue (SAR) and Salvage. Once again their efforts and humanitarian spirit are greatly appreciated.
